Good Friday Appeal executive director Rebecca Cowan said that the Good Friday Appeal were “incredibly thankful” for the support of all the communities involved.
“I want to express a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to our cause,” Ms Cowan said.
“The smaller town’s continuous support, volunteering, and donations…their creative fundraising events are such a large part of the Good Friday Appeal.”
Communities have been raising funds to support the Children’s Hospital in Melbourne since 1931, continuing after February 1963, when Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Good Friday became the annual day of appeal in 1942, and the Country Fire Authority joined in 1951.
91 years later, the Good Friday Appeal has raised $421,328,154 to help sick children and their families, with the Country Fire Authority contributing over $36M to that total.
