'Homes and lives' under threat

Dimboola, Pimpinio and Wail spent the latter part of Monday's public holiday and much of Tuesday morning bracing for fire after dry lightning ignited Little Desert National Park.

As Dimboola residents officially prepared to return to their homes late Tuesday after being evacuated almost 24 hours earlier, one little resident had a big message she wanted to share. Indie Francis, who lives in Lloyd Street, Dimboola, and her mum, Bree Myers, were scared they wouldn't have a home to return to after fires threatened the town. But thankfully, through the hard work of CFA members, the town has been saved, with barriers in place from potential flare-ups. Indie, 7, said that the CFA members were better than superheroes, and Bree agreed, thanking them for saving their home and the town.
