Walker: Highlight of my career

Stawell Warrior's wing defence, Daisy Walker, has secured her first senior premiership eleven years after winning a 13-and-under premiership. Winning the best on court medal in the B-Grade Grand Final topped off the day, which she said was a career highlight.

"I woke up pretty calm, and it's great to win with the girls, and the best on the court is a bonus," Walker said.

"We haven't beaten them all year, and we dug deep in the finals series, and we came in with momentum and got the win.

"Holly and Christine Graveson have been excellent for me. They are great and knowledgeable.

"Living in Ballarat, they are understandable if, at times, I can't make it to training, and it's great to have them coach."

Coach Christine Graveson said they couldn't have asked for more.

"The wing defence position tends to be underrated, and it's critical to winning and losing matches," Graveson said.

"If you have an excellent wing defence that can shut down a wing attack, it makes a massive difference to our game.

"Daisy had her hands on everything. She was clean at the ball and went at everything. It's one of the best games I have seen her play. It was amazing."
